Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) coach Justin Langer praised Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) batsman Virat Kohli during the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. Justin Langer described Virat Kohli as one of the finest players he's ever seen, placing him above legends such as Viv Richards, Allan Border, and Sachin Tendulkar.

Virat Kohli has cemented his position as one of the greatest batsmen in modern cricket across all formats. The right-handed batsman made his international debut for the Men in Blue against Sri Lanka in 2008. Kohli has represented the Indian national cricket team in 113 Test matches, 292 ODIs, and 117 T20 internationals.

The Delhi-born cricketer boasts impressive stats, with 8848 Test runs, 13848 ODI runs, and 4037 T20I runs. His tally of 80 centuries places him second only to Sachin Tendulkar's 100 centuries. Additionally, he surpassed Sachin Tendulkar's record for the most centuries in ODI cricket during the ODI World Cup 2023 at home.

Virat Kohli Is The Probably The Best Player - Justin Langer

Justin Langer expressed admiration for Virat Kohli, praising his extraordinary energy and spirit on the field. Despite acknowledging Kohli's greatness, Langer admitted relief when they dismissed him in a game in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024.

"Virat, of course, and I've said this publicly a lot of times. He's probably the best player I've ever seen in my life. This is coming from a cricket tragic, and I love Viv Richards and Allan Border. I played against Martin Crowe. These great players are obviously Brian Lara and Sachin, but Virat's energy is extraordinary. He's so fit. His energy on the field, running between the wickets, and he's just got this incredible spirit. So I love watching him play. I was glad we got him out in the game the other day. Yeah, that was very happy. I was happy. I didn't want to see him back then. I was happy to see him go," Justin Langer said.

Virat Kohli Holds Orange Cap In IPL 2024

Virat Kohli showcased an exceptional performance for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru but lacked support from other batters and the bowling unit. RCB has managed to secure just one victory in five matches so far in the tournament. They currently hold the ninth position in the points table, just above the Delhi Capitals.

The 35-year-old batter scored his 8th IPL century during the recent match against the Rajasthan Royals (RR) in Jaipur. However, the team suffered a six-wicket loss in that match. He currently holds the orange cap in the tournament, having scored 315 runs at an average of 105.33 and a strike rate of 146.30.

The RCB team needs to win most of the remaining matches to secure their berth in the knockout stage of the tournament. Their next assignment is against the Mumbai Indians (MI) at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Thursday, April 11.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru Squad: Faf du Plessis (c), Glenn Maxwell, Virat Kohli, Rajat Patidar, Anuj Rawat, Dinesh Karthik, Suyash Prabhudessai, Will Jacks, Mahipal Lomror, Karn Sharma, Manoj Bhandage, Mayank Dagar, Vijaykumar Vyshak, Akash Deep, Mohammed Siraj, Reece Topley, Himanshu Sharma, Rajan Kumar, Cameron Green, Alzarri Joseph, Yash Dayal, Tom Curran, Lockie Ferguson, Swapnil Singh, Saurav Chauhan.
