KL Rahul miraculously comes in contention for T20 World Cup 2024, spends long hours at the NCA

Indian wicketkeeper-batter KL Rahul has commenced his preparation for the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL). Currently undergoing rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru, KL Rahul is striving to ensure his readiness for the IPL 2024.
KL Rahul was last seen in action during the first Test of the ongoing five-match series against England in Hyderabad. The right-handed batter showcased impressive batting performances during the series opener, registering scores of 86 and 22 runs in India’s loss.
However, the Karnataka-born cricketer was ruled out of the remaining matches in the home series due to an issue with his right quadriceps. Rahul had consulted top medical experts in London. He recently returned to India and started his rehabilitation at the NCA in Bengaluru.
KL Rahul Provides Update On His Recovery
KL Rahul provided an update on his recovery progress through rigorous training sessions at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru. He also shared photos of his training routine on his official Instagram handle.

The BCCI Medical Team Is Closely Monitoring KL Rahul
While announcing the updated squad for the 5th Test, the BCCI revealed that KL Rahul’s quadriceps issue was being closely monitored by the medical team.
“Mr KL Rahul, whose participation in the final IDFC First Bank Test was subject to fitness, has been ruled out of the fifth and final Test in Dharamsala. The BCCI Medical Team is closely monitoring him and coordinating with specialists in London for further management of his issue,” BCCI said in a statement.
KL Rahul Set To Return To Field During IPL 2024
Rahul is set to bat in the middle order in the IPL 2024, according to the latest news reports. The wicketkeeper-batter made this decision to bolster his chances for selection in the 2024 T20 World Cup. Devdutt Padikkal might open the innings in place of the LSG skipper.
Rahul has scored 4,163 runs in 118 IPL games with an impressive average of 46.78 and a decent strike rate of 134.42. In 24 matches for the Lucknow-based franchise, he has amassed 890 runs, boasting an average of 44.50 and a disappointing strike rate of 127.69.
LSG will commence their IPL 2024 campaign with a match against Rajasthan Royals (RR) in Jaipur on March 24, followed by a home game against Punjab Kings (PBKS) on March 30. Next, they will face Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in Bengaluru on April 2, before hosting IPL 2023 runners-up Gujarat Titans (GT) in Lucknow on April 7.
