Chennai Super Kings (CSK) skipper MS Dhoni shared a cryptic message on Facebook ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. He hinted that he will be taking up some new role for the five-time champions in the upcoming edition of the tournament.

The wait to see MS Dhoni in the action yet again is about to get over. The keeper-batter will be seen in action in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK). The tournament will begin from 22nd March and his team will be playing the tournament opener against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).

MS Dhoni will be captaining Chennai Super Kings in the IPL 2024 and it potentially might be his last season in the league. Being in his 40s, the keeper-batter might hang up his boots after the upcoming season of the league concludes. He was expected to retire after the last season but for Chennai Super Kings fans, he mentioned that he will be pushing himself to play one more season.

MS Dhoni has been a great of the league. He has guided Chennai Super Kings to five titles in the league and made them the joint most successful team in the tournament. If he leaves after the next season, his absence will leave a massive void for the team both in the batting unit as well as leadership.

In 2022, MS Dhoni passed the baton to Ravindra Jadeja but the move didn’t work as the team suffered losses and were done and dusted. The keeper-batter then took the captaincy back midway and in 2023 guided team to the another title win by defeating Gujarat Titans in the final.

It won’t be a surprise if MS Dhoni tries to do something similar to what he did in 2022. With IPL 2024, around the corner, the keeper-batter shared a cryptic message on Facebook. The Veteran batter has been away from social and doesn’t post anything usually on his accounts.

However, his expressing his excitement about the new role has raised a lot of speculations. Taking to his Facebook account, he stated: “Can’t wait for the new season and the new role. Stay tuned.”
