Pakistan posted a total of 159/8 in their 20 overs after being asked to bat first. Shan Masood and Iftikhar Ahmed both scored half-centuries. Arshdeep Singh and Hardik Pandya claimed three wickets each, while Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Mohammed Shami each took one wicket.
Pakistan fast bowlers Haris Rauf and Naseem Shah rattled the Indian team's top order, restricting them to 31/4 in 6.1 overs. However, a crucial partnership between Virat Kohli and Hardik Pandya steadied the innings, bringing India back into the game with hopes of a victory.
Kohli struck three consecutive sixes in the penultimate over bowled by Haris Rauf when the Indian cricket team needed 31 runs off 12 balls. Virat and Hardik forged a crucial 113-run partnership for the fifth wicket. Pandya contributed 40 runs before being dismissed in the final over.
The 35-year-old batter smashed a crucial six off the fourth delivery in the final over of the game. The delivery was called a no-ball due to its height, granting him a free hit. Subsequently, left-arm spinner Mohammad Nawaz bowled a wide, and India scored three runs off the free hit.
Under increasing tension, the Pakistani bowler made another error, delivering a wide while India needed just two runs from two balls. Ravichandran Ashwin then adeptly placed the ball beyond the infield for a single, sparking celebrations among the Indian team.
I Can Eat The Same Thing For Next Six Months - Virat Kohli
