Rachin Ravindra reveals what actually goes inside CSK dressing room

CSK’s new signing Rachin Ravindra has already played two impactful knocks for the IPL franchise in IPL 2024 so far. He scored 37 off 15 balls in the season opener against RCB and followed it up with 46 off 20 balls in their next game against Gujarat Giants.

CSK are topping the table with 4 points and the best NRR of +1.979. Alongside Chennai Super Kings, KKR and Rajasthan Royals are the only three unbeaten teams in the tournament so far this season. They next play the Delhi Capitals in Vizag on March 31 in their first away game.

Rachin Ravindra was signed up by the franchise for 1.8 crores in the auction back in December 2023. By getting him in, CSK maintained the legacy of roping in a quality left-hander to join their ranks after Stephen Fleming, Michael Hussey, Matthew Hayden, Devon Conway, and now him. Conway’s absence for the season meant that he was tasked with the job to open the innings and he did not disappoint.

Easy To Get Along With People In A Team Like CSK: Rachin Ravindra

“It was pretty special. I think when we were watching the auction and as soon as it (getting signed by CSK) happened, I had Dave (Devon Conway) call me, Santner messaged me, and then obviously, Flem (Fleming). So that’s pretty cool… a lot of the lads, not just the overseas guys, but the Indian guys are such good people. So it’s very easy to get along with people in a team like this,” Rachin said on joining Chennai Super Kings.

Rachin Ravindra spoke to the CSK media team ahead of their next match against Delhi Capitals on March 31. He spoke about how the environment is within the team and pointed out that there is no hierarchy within the team and its players.

“It’s more from players being able to be comfortable, players knowing their roles and quite a relaxed environment, which makes everyone feel a bit more chill and can get along a bit better, and doesn’t feel like it’s a hierarchy because you can always have a nice conversation with Flem if you want to, you can have a conversation with Hussey, you can have a conversation with MS Dhoni, you can have a conversation with Rutu.” Rachin said in the media interaction.

Meanwhile, CSK are playing under a new captain in Ruturaj Gaikwad. He was named the captain of the side a day before the IPL 2024 started on March 22.MS Dhoni surprisingly decided to step down allowing Gaikwad to take over. In the first two games, he has led the team well and MS Dhoni has been the guiding force behind him.
