The Gujarat Titans have officially announced that Jharkhand batter Robin Minz is ruled out of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season. The Gujarat Titans have picked a player from Karnataka to replace Robin Minz for the much-awaited T20 tournament.
The IPL 2024 will commence with a match between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Friday, March 22. MS Dhoni stepped down from the captaincy a day before the opening match.
Gujarat Titans Sign B R Sharath To Replace Robin Minz
The Gujarat Titans have signed B R Sharath to replace the injured Robin Minz for IPL 2024. The announcement was made via the IPL’s official website, confirming that the Karnataka wicketkeeper-batter will join the GT squad for a base price of INR 20 lakh.
“Gujarat Titans (GT) added B R Sharath to their squad as a replacement for the injured Robin Minz,” the statement on iplt20.com read.
“B R Sharath – a wicketkeeper-batter – represents Karnataka in Domestic Cricket. He has so far played 28 T20s, in addition to 20 First-Class matches and 43 List-A games, and has 328 T20 runs against his name. He will join GT for his base price of INR 20 Lac,” the statement added.
Robin Minz sparked a bidding war among franchises during last year’s mini-auction in Dubai. The 21-year-old was signed by the Gujarat Titans for Rs 3.60 crore. His signing marked a historic moment, as he became the first tribal cricketer to be picked in the auction.
The Jharkhand wicketkeeper-batter met with a bike accident on March 2. The cricketer lost control of his Kawasaki superbike after colliding with another bike on the road, resulting in minor bruises on his right knee and severe damage to the front half of his bike.
While not extensively experienced in domestic cricket, Robin Minz has participated in 14 domestic T20 matches, amassing 353 runs with an impressive strike rate of 148.9.
Tanush Kotian Replaces Adam Zampa For Rajasthan Royals
Mumbai spinner Tanush Kotian has been selected to replace Adam Zampa in the Rajasthan Royals (RR) squad for the upcoming IPL 2024 season. Kotian will join RR for his base price of Rs 20 lakhs, following his recent strong performances in the Ranji Trophy.
“Tanush Kotian joined Rajasthan Royals (RR) in place of Adam Zampa for the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024.”
“Tanush Kotian, who recently made solid all-round contributions as Mumbai won the 42nd Ranji Trophy title, joins RR for his base price of INR 20 Lac. He has represented Mumbai in 23 T20s, 26 First-Class games, and 19 List A matches.”
Tanush Kotian’s performance in the 2024 Ranji Trophy was exceptional, contributing significantly to Mumbai’s championship victory. Kotian amassed over 500 runs in the first-class season, notably partnering in a record-breaking 232-run stand with Tushar Deshpande.
The 25-year-old cricketer emerged as Mumbai’s second-highest run scorer with five half-centuries and a century against Baroda. He took 29 wickets at an impressive average of 16.96, including a crucial seven-wicket haul in the championship match against Vidarbha.
