Mumbai Indians star batter Suryakumar Yadav congratulated pacer Mayank Yadav after his dashing debut in IPL 2024. Suryakumar Yadav shared an Instagram story for Mayank Yadav and praised him for his achievement across two games.

Mayank Yadav is the latest pace recruit in Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). The right-arm pacer has played two games for LSG in IPL 2024. In both games, Yadav bowled splendid spells to win the Player of the Match (POTM) awards. The 21-year-old pacer clinched 3 wickets haul in both games.

The Delhi-based pacer made his IPL debut in the clash against Punjab Kings (PBKS). He clinched 3 wickets for 27 runs in the match to drive LSG to victory by 21 runs. In his second game vs RCB, the right-arm clocked 3-14 in his 4-overs spell. Dismissing crucial batters in the match, Mayank Yadav propelled his team to victory by 28 runs.

Meanwhile, Suryakumar Yadav is yet to make an entry in IPL 2024. The right-handed batter is a member of Mumbai Indians (MI). He is in rehabilitation from injury and is expected to be back in the latter half of IPL 2024.

Notably, Suryakumar Yadav’s absence has shattered Mumbai Indians’ batting might in IPL 2024. In their previous match vs Rajasthan Royals at home, MI piled up just 125-9 in 1st innings. Later, Rajasthan chased down the target by 6 wickets. Moreover, MI has also lost three games in a row and takes the last spot in the IPL 2024 points table.

He has become the first-ever player to win two Player of the Match awards in his first two games in the Indian Premier League. With 6 scalps in 2 games, he takes the second spot in the list of highest wicket-takers in IPL 2024.

Yadav owns a bowling average of 6.83 and an economy of 5.12 after two games. Lucknow Super Giants picked Mayank Yadav in IPL 2022 auction. The franchise captured him at his base price of Rs. 20 lakh. Later, they retained him for the 2023 and 2024 seasons.
