Chris Gayle’s humorous nature is well-known in the cricketing fraternity. Widely regarded as one of the most aggressive batters of all time, the former West Indies skipper is also popular for his jovial and humorous nature.
And the former Royal Challengers Bangalore batter recently came up with a hilarious comment to explain his absence from the pre-wedding bash of Anant Ambani. The star-studded party took place in Jamnagar and was attended by several cricket stars such as MS Dhoni, Sachin Tendulkar, and Rohit Sharma.
A number of cricket stars from the Caribbeans were also present at the party. The likes of Dwayne Bravo, Kieron Pollard, and Nicholas Pooran attended the party as well. However, Chris Gayle, whose love for parties is well known, was nowhere to be seen. He was recently asked about the reason behind his absence. In reply, the West Indies great hilariously said that the Ambanis could not afford the Universe Boss.
“Oh they just couldn’t afford me. Yeah they’re billionaires but they couldn’t afford the Universe Boss. They couldn’t source it. I told them to take Rihaana in place of me (laughs),” Chris Gayle told Cricbuzz.
The former cricketer is currently in India to ply his trade as a commentator for IPL 2024. Apart from him, the likes of AB de Villiers, Shane Watson, Eoin Morgan, Brett Lee, Mike Hesson, Anil Kumble, Robin Uthappa, and Graeme Smith are also in JioCinema’s star-studded commentary panel.
