Virat Kohli and Jos Buttler were the two heroes of RCB vs RR match of IPL 2024 on Saturday, April 6. Both of them shattered centuries for their respective teams to set the crowd on fire at Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.

Batting first, Virat Kohli stormed his 8th IPL ton during RCB vs RR match. The RCB opener shattered 133 not-out off 72 deliveries including 4 sixes and 12 boundaries. Later, Jos Buttler rose to the limelight and drove RR to victory with his impeccable 100 not-out.

Jos Buttler reached his century on the 1st ball of the final over. As RR needed just 1 run to win and Buttler was unbeaten on 94, he knocked a six off Cameron Green to reach his century and capture the winning runs for the team.

As Butter celebrated his ton and RR’s victory at the stadium, Virat Kohli met him and congratulated him for his fabulous knock. He shook hands with the RR opener despite his wonderful knock going in vain. Later, the RCB opener also clinched a photo with Buttler; which was shared by IPL on their official X handle. Meanwhile, Jos Buttler led Rajasthan Royals to their fourth straight victory in IPL 2024. Post the match, the England batsman said he was in good form in the previous tournament and wanted just one knock to get his momentum back in IPL 2024.

“I had a really good tournament in South Africa, I just felt like I needed one inning to put that to bed. We started the season really well, we have been together now for three seasons, we have got a good thing going, but we need to keep working hard and keep the momentum going”, the RR opener said.

RR crushed RCB by 6 wickets

Talking about the match, RR won the toss and chose to bowl first. Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis etched an impeccable partnership of 125 runs for 1st wicket. While Plessis lost his wicket for 44, Kohli smashed 133 to drive the scoreboard to 183-3.

Yuzvendra Chahal picked 2 wickets for RR while Nandre Burger grabbed 1 scalp. During the chase, Rajasthan faced a big blow at the start losing Yashasvi Jaiswal for a duck. However, Sanju Samson and Jos Buttler led the way for victory with their 148-run stand for the 2nd wicket.

While RR lost a few wickets cheaply towards the end, Buttler held his wicket to bring the team home by 6 wickets. Reece Topley picked the most 2 wickets for Royal Challengers Bengaluru. However, RCB bowlers largely failed to demolish RR batters at the start.
