With just a few hours remaining until the highly anticipated Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) batter Virat Kohli is under the spotlight. Virat Kohli is poised to become the first Indian to reach a massive milestone in T20 cricket.
Virat Kohli has been absent from action since the third T20I match against Afghanistan in January. The right-handed batter opted out of the recent five-match Test series against England to be with his wife, Anushka Sharma, during the birth of their second child, Akaay.
The Delhi-born cricketer faces a challenge in the upcoming season due to his lack of match practice. To compensate for this, Kohli has been diligently training in the nets against both pacers and spinners to regain his form and rhythm before the tournament opener.
The Royal Challengers Bengaluru will face the defending champions, the Chennai Super Kings (CSK), at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Friday, March 22. The Chennai team emerged victorious when they last met the RCB team in the IPL opener in 2019.
