A disappointed Shubman Gill let his emotions out after failing to capitalize on his start in the ongoing game between Gujarat Titans and Lucknow Super Giants at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow.

Batting first, LSG posted a competitive total of 163/5 in the allotted 20 overs after their skipper KL Rahul won the toss and opted to bat first. LSG were reeling at 18/2 in the third over before Marcus Stoinis' half-century guided them to the good total.

He shared a crucial 73-run stand with Rahul who scored 33. Nicholas Pooran (32*) and Ayush Badoni (20) then helped LSG finish with a 160-plus total.

In reply, GT made a good start. Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan added 54 runs for the first wicket in the powerplay. The GT skipper was cautious with the bat in the powerplay as he scored only 19 runs off 20 balls with the help of two fours. And while he would have liked to break the shackles soon, he could not do it as Yash Thakur castled him on the very last ball of the powerplay.

It was a full and straight delivery from Thakur and Shubman Gill went for a flick. However, he failed to make any contact with the ball. As a result, the ball went past his bat before crashing into the stumps. Shubman Gill was absolutely furious with himself after the dismissal and his reaction said it all. He let out a huge roar before walking off the field.

Talking about Gill's performance in the ongoing IPL season, he started his campaign with a knock of 31 against Mumbai Indians. In the second game against champions Chennai Super Kings, the GT skipper could only manage eight before scoring 36 against Sunrisers Hyderabad. It was followed by an unbeaten knock of 89 runs against Punjab Kings.
