For the first time since their infamous altercation in the last IPL, Gautam Gambhir and Virat Kohli came face to face on Friday (March 29) when Royal Challengers Bengaluru hosted Kolkata Knight Riders in the tenth game of the ongoing IPL 2024.

Virat Kohli was involved in a tussle with Lucknow Super Giants pacer Naveen-ul-Haq during the game last year. After the end of the game, both were involved in a verbal spat before Gautam Gambhir got involved. The former India opener, who was serving as the mentor of LSG last year, was not happy with Kyle Mayers for talking with Virat Kohli and pulled him away.

It was followed by an altercation between the former India teammates before they were separated by other players. For the first time since that match, Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir were involved in a game on Friday and it looks like both of them have buried the hatchet.

A heartwarming scene was witnessed during the time out in RCB’s innings. As Gautam Gambhir walked out on the field, he was seen saying something to Virat Kohli who walked towards the former cricketer before both of them shared a hug.

Watch as Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir share a hug:

Last year, Kohli had buried the hatchet with Naveen-ul-Haq as well. Both of them shook hands and hugged each other during the game between India and Afghanistan in the ODI World Cup last year. Later, Naveen had opened up on the incident, saying:

“He told me ‘let’s finish it.’ I said yeah let’s finish it. We laughed about it, we hugged and moved on. He also said that after this you won’t hear my name. You will only hear support from the crowd.”

Talking about the ongoing game, RCB were on 166 for 5 after 19 overs. Kohli was batting on 74 while Dinesh Karthik was giving him company on 13.
