Royal Challengers Bengaluru will be hoping for something big from Glenn Maxwell in the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). As RCB eyes their first-ever IPL title, the Australia star will have to play a big role.

When it comes to winning big tournaments, the hard-hitting batsman knows a thing or two about it. He was a key member of the Australian team that won the ODI World Cup in 2015 and 2023. He was also a member of the Australian squad that won the T20 World Cup in 2021.

In the ODI World Cup last year, Glenn Maxwell played some brilliant knocks that included a historic unbeaten double-century against Afghanistan. Last month, he also scored a brilliant century against West Indies during a T20I game and RCB will be hoping that he maintains the same form in the upcoming season.

While only time will tell how the Australian star performs in IPL 2024, one can say that he is a really good mood ahead of the new season. The 35-year-old trained with his RCB teammates at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Wednesday (March 20) and looked jovial as he brilliantly mimicked the batting style of his teammate Virat Kohli.

In the video shared by the franchise, the World Cup winner stood behind Kohli and playfully imitated the former India captain’s stance and gestures.

Meanwhile, RCB will be in action on the very first day of IPL 2024. They will be l0cking horns against reigning champions Chennai Super Kings in Chennai on Friday (March 22). A win against the defending champions in their backyard would be a perfect start for the Bengaluru-based outfit.

After failing to qualify for the playoffs last season, RCB will be desperate to go all the way this season and they do have the firepower to do that. Apart from Maxwell and Kohli, they will also have the services of Faf du Plessis, Cameron Green, Rajat Patidar, Dinesh Karthik, Mohammed Siraj, Lockie Ferguson, Reece Topley, Alzarri Joseph and others for IPL 2024.
