Former Indian captain and legendary wicketkeeper MS Dhoni doesn’t need any introduction for what he has achieved in his 15-year-old international career. From being the only Indian captain to win three ICC trophies and being one of the best finishers in the world, MSD is one of the finest cricketers of the modern-day era. Dhoni is also known for his gun speed behind the wickets.
MS Dhoni has a brilliant game sense due to which he has dismissed many big names in international cricket. Dhoni watches the ball and the movement of the batsman very carefully after which he makes various tactics to dismiss the batsman. There have also been times when youngsters go out and have a chat with MSD after the match and take advice from him.
Such a revelation of advice was made by Australian all-rounder Marcus Stoinis he received from MS Dhoni. Stoinis is currently playing for the Durban Super Giants in SA20 2024. In a video uploaded by the franchise on ‘X’, Stoinis revealed that MSD told one thing to him. In every match every player thinks, he is going to do something big or extra, however, Dhoni’s mantra was that he always said to himself that everyone else beside him will change, whereas he will stand calm and still in his place.
Marcus Stoinis reveals MS Dhoni’s advice
Marcus Stonis said, “MS Dhoni said one thing to me. He said, in big games, everyone thinks that I have got to do something extra, I have got to do something different. He said his mantra and how he speaks to himself is he stays there, he stands still and he says, everyone else is going to change. I am going to be the only one here that doesn’t change. And that holds him ahead of everyone else.”

Marcus Stonis has faced MS Dhoni many times while playing for the Lucknow Super Giants in the Indian Premier League. Stonis has proved to be a brilliant all-rounder for LSG and has played many match-defining innings by coming down the order. Stoinis can hit big shots at any stage of the innings just like MSD, and he also can take wickets with the ball.
Moving back to MS Dhoni, after retiring from international cricket MS Dhoni is only seen playing in the Indian Premier League for the Chennai Super Kings. CSK has won three editions of the last six IPLs and every time MSD was the captain of the franchise. MS Dhoni will once again be leading CSK in the IPL 2024 and this season can be considered as his last edition of the cash-rich league.
During his time away from the field, MS Dhoni is spotted on flights, in public places, and meeting his fans. Also, MSD is very much fond of farming at his home and uses his off time very well.
MS Dhoni will want to end his cricketing career in a fairytale style and will want to lift the trophy with CSK for the 6th time and make the franchise the most successful IPL team.
