Pat Cummins, on Friday (April 5), showed remarkable sportsmanship and withdrew an appeal against Ravindra Jadeja in the ongoing game between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Chennai Super Kings at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad.

The incident took place in the 19th over when Ravindra Jadeja was facing Bhuvneshwar Kumar. On the fourth ball of the over, Bhuvneshwar bowled a yorker and Ravindra Jadeja managed to dig it out. The ball went towards Bhuvneshwar who collected it before firing a throw at the striker's end as Ravindra Jadeja was out of the crease.

However, Jadeja turned back as soon as the throw was made and the ball ended up hitting him on his back. SRH wicketkeeper Heinrich Klaasen signaled that Jadeja might have got in the way of the throw although it did look like the CSK allrounder was trying to get out of the way.

The umpires had a brief discussion before sending the decision upstairs. As both the teams were waiting for the third umpire's decision, Pat Cummins intervened and decided to withdraw the appeal.

CSK were on 54 for 2 in the eighth over before Shivam Dube's 45-run knock off just 24 balls gave the innings some much-needed impetus. Dube and Ajinkya Rahane shared a crucial 65-run stand for the third wicket.

Rahane scored 35 off 30 balls while Jadeja also played a crucial knock of 31 not out from 23 balls. The last time SRH batted at their home ground, they had piled up a record total of 277/3 against Mumbai Indians and will be backing themselves to chase down the total against CSK. The Hyderbad-based outfit is eyeing its second win of the season.
