Gujarat Titans captain Shubman Gill lost his cool and argued with the umpires during the ongoing game against Lucknow Super Giants at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow.

The incident took place in the very first over of the game. Umesh Yadav gave GT a flying start by dismissing in-form Quinton de Kock on the fourth ball of the first over. On the very next ball, Yadav's delivery hit Devdutt Padikkal on the pad and GT fielders appealed for an lbw decision.

The on-field umpire gave his decision in the favour of the batsman but GT were convinced that Padikkal was out and opted for a review. However, the third umpire gave his decision in the favour of the batsman as well after replays showed that the ball had hit the bat before hitting Padikkal's pad.

Nitin Menon, who was the third umpire, gave his decision without checking the UltraEdge as he spotted the big deflection. However, Shubman Gill was not at all happy with the non-usage of the UltraEdge and decided to make his displeasure clear to the umpires.

He as well as Rahul Tewatia were seen arguing with the on-field umpires over the incident.  Shubman Gill then controlled the situation by asking Tewatia to walk away. Later in the second over, the UltraEdge was shown on the giant screen and it became clear that the ball had touched the bat before hitting the pad.

The right-arm pacer sent back Padikkal for seven in the third over to leave LSG reeling at 18 for 2. At the time of writing this report, captain KL Rahul and Marcus Stoinis were batting for LSG.
