Talking about the game, Punjab Kings scored 176 for 6 in 20 overs after RCB captain Faf du Plessis won the toss and opted to bowl first. Captain Shikhar Dhawan led from the front and top-scored for the side. The veteran batsman scored 45 runs while the likes of Prabhsimran Singh (25), Sam Curran (23), Jitesh Sharma (27), and Shashank Singh (21*) played useful knocks as well.
For RCB, Mohammed Siraj and Glenn Maxwell picked up two wickets each. With the bat, the Bengaluru-based outfit made a shaky start. Kagiso Rabada dismissed du Plessis (3) and Cameron Green (3) cheaply inside the powerplay to reduce RCB to 43 for 2. However, Virat Kohli was going strong at the time of writing this report and RCB would be hoping that he guides them to a win.
RCB were on 69 for 2 in the ninth over with Kohli batting on 40. Earlier in the tournament, RCB started their season with a six-wicket loss against Chennai Super Kings. In that game, Kohli was out for a 20-ball 21. On the other hand, Punjab Kings began their campaign with a 4-wicket win over Delhi Capitals.
