There is absolutely no denying that Virat Kohli is one of the best fielders in the world. Widely regarded as one of the fittest cricketers in the world, the India superstar displays exemplary fielding on the field.

It does not matter if he fields inside the circle or in the deep, Virat Kohli rarely fails to make an impact on the field. However, the former India skipper made a rare blunder on the field during the game between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Rajasthan Royals in Jaipur on Saturday (April 6) and it cost his team four precious runs.

The incident took place in the eighth over when Himanshu Sharma was bowling to RR captain Sanju Samson. On the second ball of the over, Samson hit the ball in the space between deep mid-wicket and long-on. Virat Kohli, who was standing at deep mid-wicket, came charging in and the ball was well within his reach but decided against going for it.

He seemingly thought that Mayan Dagar, who came running from long-on, would catch the ball. However, Dagar did not go for the ball as well and the ball went on to hit the boundary ropes.

Watch the blunder from Virat Kohli:

Earlier in the game, Virat Kohli starred with the bat to propel RCB to a competitive total after RR won the toss and opted to bowl first. The former RCB captain scored the first century of the ongoing IPL 2024, helping RCB finish their innings on 183/3 in the allotted 20 overs.

He shared a mammoth stand of 125 runs with captain Faf du Plessis for the first wicket before the latter was dismissed by Yuzvendra Chahal for 44 in the 14th over. The onus was on the middle-order batsmen to provide the finishing touch but they failed.

The likes of Glenn Maxwell (1) and Saurav Chauhan (9) failed to deliver but Kohli remained till the end to take his team to a good score. The former India skipper eventually remained unbeaten on 113 off 72 balls. His knock was studded with 12 fours and four sixes.
