In the RCB team's recent IPL 2024 match against the Rajasthan Royals, Virat Kohli smashed his eighth century in the tournament. Despite Kohli's remarkable innings, the Bengaluru-based franchise faced a setback as they suffered a six-wicket defeat while defending a total of 183 runs in Jaipur.

Am Very Scared Of Turbulence - Virat Kohli

In a recent social media post with Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Virat Kohli candidly revealed his fear of turbulence while flying. Kohli expressed feeling uneasy during turbulent flights, admitting to gripping the seat's sides tightly.

“I am very scared of turbulence. Oh my god, I look so stupid and like a fool. Whenever there is a bad turbulence, I am the first guy to hold the sides of the seat. So I feel like, I am the gone,” Kohli said.

The Delhi-born cricketer is set to play in RCB's match against the Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium on April 11th. RCB, eager for a victory, will look to Kohli as their key player in the crucial encounter to increase their chances of qualifying for the playoffs in the IPL 2024.

Kohli excels in facing the five-time IPL champions, scoring 852 runs across 32 encounters at an average of 31.55 and a strike rate of 128.12, including five half-centuries. Notably, his highest IPL score against MI stands at 92*, achieved during IPL 2018 at Wankhede Stadium.

Virat Kohli Always Has The Chance Of Starting At 130 - Brian Lara

Critics have raised concerns about Virat Kohli's strike rate ahead of the T20 World Cup. However, legendary cricketer Brian Lara emphasized that Kohli's performance depends on his batting position, suggesting a strike rate of 130-140 is acceptable.

“The strike-rate depends on position, and for an opener strike-rate of 130-140 is pretty alright. But if you are coming in the middle-order then you may be required to hit at 150 or 160. As you have seen in this IPL, batsmen are hitting at 200 in the latter part of an innings,” Brian Lara said.

“But an opener like Kohli always has the chance of starting at 130, bat through the overs and finish at 160 or even higher, which is alright. But if you ask me, India’s top three in the World Cup should be Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Shubman Gill irrespective of all these. And for RCB, it should not be about one person, as it has to be a team effort,” he added.

According to reports, Virat Kohli is virtually guaranteed a spot in the Indian ICC T20 World Cup squad. Kohli's wealth of experience and consistent performance render him indispensable, despite scrutiny over his strike rate as an RCB opener in the ongoing T20 tournament.
