Lumbini Lions Cricket Team 2024
Lumbini Lions are a professional franchise T20 team based in the Lumbini province of Nepal. The Lions are one of the eight teams that will be taking part in the inaugural edition of the Nepal Premier League.
Fortuna Health Care is the owner of the Lumbini-based franchise. Fortuna Health Care bought Lumbini Lions for NPR 1.86 crore. Nepal captain Rohit Paudel is the marquee player of the team and will also lead the side in the tournament.
Paudel has played 68 ODIs and 59 T20Is so far. A batting allrounder, Paudel has scored 1753 runs in ODIs and 1310 runs in the shortest format of the game. With the ball, he has picked up 10 and 9 wickets in ODIs and T20Is respectively. Former Indian cricketer Nandan Phadnis is the head coach of the team.
Lumbini Lions will be facing Biratnagar Kings on December 4 in their first game of the tournament. Their last league is against Karnali Yaks on December 13.
