The Mumbai cricket team, formerly called the Bombay Cricket team, represents the city of Mumbai in Indian domestic cricket. The team is governed by Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA).

Their home ground is the iconic Wankhede Stadium. Apart from the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai also play their home matches at Bandra Kurla Complex Ground and Brabourne Stadium.

Mumbai is the most successful side in the history of Ranji Trophy. While no other team has won the tournament even ten times so far, they have won it 42 times including 15 times in a row from 1958–59 to 1972–73.

Mumbai (then Bombay) won the first-ever edition of the Ranji Trophy in 1934-35 season by defeating Northern India in the final. They went on to defend the title in the next season with a win over Madras. Of the first 20 Ranji Trophy seasons, Bombay won seven. In the semifinal of 1948-49 season, they also became the first and so far only team in first-class history to score over 600 runs in both innings of the same match.

Over the years, Mumbai has been considered the bedrock of India's batting talent. Some of the players produced by Mumbai cricket team are Sachin Tendulkar, Sunil Gavaskar, Rohit Sharma, Vijay Merchant, Polly Umrigar and Dilip Vengsarkar.

They have also won the Irani Trophy 14 times. The Mumbai cricket team won the now-disbanded Wills Trophy 8 times. They have won the Vijay Hazare Trophy 4 times and the Syed Mushtaq Ali trophy once.
