Islamabad United Cricket Team (2025)
Islamabad United are one of the six teams participating in the Pakistan Super League (PSL). They represent Pakistan's capital Islamabad and play their home games at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.
The franchise is one of the five teams that was founded by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) in 2015 ahead of the first season of the PSL. Islamabad United are owned by Leonine Global Investments through its sports entity Leonine Global Sports, owned by Amna Naqvi and Ali Naqvi.
Islamabad United's captain is Shadab Khan while their head coach is Mike Hesson. They have won the PSL three times so far and are the most successful team in the competition. No team has won the PSL more times than Islamabad United so far.

Islamabad United - Season-wise Performance:
Islamabad United made a poor start to their campaign in the inaugural season of the PSL. They lost their first two games but recovered and qualified for the playoffs. They beat Karachi Kings in the Eliminator before getting the better of Islamabad United in the second qualifier. In the final, Islamabad United beat Quetta Gladiators to become the first winners of PSL.
In the second season, Islamabad United made it to the playoffs but could not qualify for the final. Just like the first season, Islamabad United faced Karachi Kings in the Eliminators but suffered a loss. Islamabad United won the PSL in 2018 as well and became the first team to win the competition twice.
They finished the league stage at the top of the points table with seven wins from 10 games. In the playoffs, Islamabad United beat Karachi Kings in the first qualifier before beating Peshawar Zalmi in the final. In 2019, they bowed out of the tournament at the playoffs.
In 2020, Islamabad United failed to progress ahead of the league stage for the first time as they finished at the bottom of the points table. From 2021 to 2023, they exited the tournament at the playoffs stage for three years in a row. Islamabad United won the PSL for a record third time in 2024.
