Multan Sultans Season-wise Performance:
While Multan Sultans are one of the most consistent teams in the PSL history, their journey did not start on a good note. They made their PSL debut in the year 2018 under the captaincy of former Pakistan captain Shoaib Malik. In their debut season, Multan Sultans finished at the fifth spot in the six-team competition and failed to qualify for the playoffs.
Their fortunes did not change in 2019 either as they failed to make it to the playoffs after finishing at the fifth spot in the table. After two disappointing seasons, Multan Sultans named Shan Masood as their new captain and it paid off immediately.
They finished the league stage at the top of the points table and qualified for the playoffs for the first time. In 2021, Multan Sultans enjoyed another successful season and went on to win the title. They beat table-toppers Islamabad United in the qualifier before beating Peshawar Zalmi in the final.
Since 2021, Multan Sultans have qualified for the final of the PSL in each edition but have not won the title. In 2022, they finished the league stage at the top of the table before losing the final against Lahore Qalandars. In 2023, Multan Sultans once again faced Lahore Qalandars in the final and suffered yet another defeat.
In 2024, the Sultans made it to the final for the fourth year in a row and faced Islamabad United. The Mohammad Rizwan-led side lost the final for the third time in a row.
