Islamabad United is one of the strongest teams in the ongoing edition of the Pakistan Super League. They registered a dominant 9-wicket win over Peshawar Zalmi in the first game. However, the second game resulted in a 20-run defeat at the hands of Multan Sultans.

Islamabad conceded 217 runs in the first innings and, in reply, were bundled out for 197. Bowling is certainly their best concern right now. It will be interesting if they make any changes in the bowling department for the next game. Here’s a look at our predicted playing for Islamabad United for the next match against Quetta Gladiators on Thursday.

Islamabad United have got two powerful strikers of the ball in Alex Hales and Paul Sterling as openers. They showed their batting prowess in the first game and also got starts in the last game as well but couldn’t convert them into big scores. Will they be consistent enough to take them into the playoffs will be there to be seen.

Middle-Order: R Gurbaz, Azam Khan and Asif Ali

Rahmanullah Gurbaz has shown his batting prowess on a number of occasions in the shortest format. However, not converting the starts into big scores has been a concern for him. If Gurbaz manages do that this season, Quetta Gladiators can easily reach the playoffs and might well win the trophy.

Azam Khan and Asif Al are two terrific power-hitters in the team. They are yet to showcase their potential with the bat in the tournament. The next game though would be the perfect platform for them to do that.

All-rounders: Shadab Khan, F Ashraf

Skipper Shadab Khan is one of the most important players in the team. He rarely has a bad day with the ball and, in the last game, he showed what he can do with the bat as well. In just 42 balls, he managed to score 91 runs, a knock which was laced with 5 fours and 9 sixes. He will be a player to watch out for in the next game.

F Ashraf is also a great asset to the team as he contributes with both bat and ball. He endured a forgettable outing with both bat and ball in the last game and would be looking to bounce back strongly.

Bowlers: Hasan Ali, Marchant de Lange, Mohammad Wasim Jr, Zafar Gohar

All three bowlers, namely Hasan Ali, Merchant de Lange, Mohammad Wasim Jr. went for plenty of runs in the last game. They are three important bowlers in the side and the team would expect them to dish out improved performances ahead in the tournament. Besides, Islamabad United might think of adding a left-arm spinner in Zafar Gohar in the team.
