Lahore Qalandars squad gave a refreshing guard of honor to Afghanistan spinner, Rashid Khan after the latter played his final game for the franchise in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2022.

Rashid has international assignments to fulfill as Afghanistan is scheduled to play against Bangladesh in a limited-overs series starting on February 23 in Chattogram.

He played his final game on Saturday where he ended with figures of 2/19 in four overs. Harry Brook was the Player of the Match for his stunning century in the first innings of the game.

After Islamabad United finished their innings, the Lahore squad gathered around and stood to give the guard of honour as Rashid walked through. Shaheen Afridi also had a warm embrace waiting at the end as they bid an emotional farewell to Rashid.

Rashid had an excellent outing in PSL 2022. He played nine matches for Lahore in which he took 13 wickets at an excellent average of 17.30. His strike rate was even better at 16.60 and to go with it, the miserly leg-spinner gave away just 6.25 rpo.

He will now join Afghanistan for their 3-match ODI series against Bangladesh that starts on Wednesday. After the ODIs, the teams will move to Dhaka where they will play 2 T20Is with an eye on preparing for this year’s T20 World Cup that will be held in Australia.
