Former Pakistan allrounder Imad Wasim hit back at the fans after being taunted by them with ‘Babar, Babar’ chants. The incident took place during the game between Islamabad United and Karachi Kings on Thursday (March 7) in the ongoing Pakistan Super League 2024 (PSL 2024).

Imad Wasim’s rocky relationship with Babar Azam is well known. In an interview last year, the Pakistan allrounder said that while he and Babar are not enemies, the relationship between them is complicated.

“The answer to this question is complicated, but there is no truth in the fact that we are enemies,” Imad Wasim had said on a chat show when asked about his current relationship with Babar.

He also criticized Babar several times for his performance during the ODI World Cup last year. And as soon as the World Cup ended, he announced his retirement from international cricket at the age of 34. Imad Wasim was struggling to find a chance in the Pakistan team and decided to bring down the curtains on his illustrious career.

While he would have thought that retiring from international cricket would help him move on, he was in for a big surprise when he took the field on Thursday. The fans targeted him with chants of Babar while he was fielding near the boundary.

At first, he just looked back at the fans and himself joined the chants. However, when the fans decided to continue the chants, Imad Wasim took his top off and held the side showing his name up to the fans.
