Ramiz Raja has become the butt of all jokes once again after making a big blunder while commentating during a game in the ongoing Pakistan Super League 2024 (PSL 2024). Time and again, the former Pakistan cricketer has been trolled on social media for making bizarre comments on air and he was at it again when Peshawar Zalmi was playing against Multan Sultans in Rawalpindi on Tuesday (March 5).

The incident took place during the Peshawar Zalmi innings. As the umpire signaled time out after the 12th over of the innings, Ramiz Raja bizarrely called Peshawar Zalmi by the wrong name. Instead of saying Peshawar, he said ‘Pesh**b’ which means urine.

“Bit of a breather for Pesh**b Zalmi,” said Ramiz Raja before quickly correcting himself.

Zalmi wins thriller:

Talking about the game, Peshawar Zalmi beat Multan Sultans by 4 runs in a thrilling game. Batting first, Zalmi posted a big total of 204/5 in the allotted 20 overs. Saim Ayub (46) and captain Babar Azam gave Zalmi a flying start by adding 84 runs in just seven overs for the first wicket.

Haseebullah Khan (31) and Rovman Powell (23*) also came up with useful cameos to help the Zalmi cross the 200-run mark. In reply, Multan Sultans finished their innings on 200 for 5. At 125 for 5 in the 16th over, Sultans were looking destined to suffer a big loss.

However, Iftikhar Ahmed (60* off 27) and Chris Jordan (30* off 12) turned the game on its head by launching a stunning counterattack. In the last over, Sultans needed 23 runs but Ahmed and Jordan could only score 18.

Not easy. It isn’t easy to defend at Rawalpindi. We bowled well in the first 6 overs. The dropped chance of Iftikhar could have cost us. Captaincy doesn’t bother me much. I look to execute my skills. It is not about coming in and hitting sixes every ball. People have been talking about my strike rate,” said Babar Azam after the game.

“But I focus on the situation and my strengths. The last three overs from Mumtaz helped us. We need to be more consistent. We need to be better at fielding. We can execute better with the bat as Rawalpindi is batting-friendly,” he added.

Despite the loss, Sultans are at the top of the points table with six victories from eight games. On the other hand, Zalmi are in third spot with four wins from eight games.
