Shadab Khan and Alex Hales were at the receiving end of a life-threatening collision during the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2024 game between Karachi Kings and Islamabad United. The game between the teams is taking place at the National Stadium in Karachi.

Shadab Khan and Alex Hales left everyone stunned after they collided with each other. It was during the last ball of the first innings when Hunain Shah was bowling. The pacer booked a low full to which Karachi Kings batter Kieron Pollard made room and attempted to hit the ball down the ground.

Alex Hales came running in from long-off and Shadab Khan from came long-on ran across. The England star stuck his hands out and got his hands to the ball but ended up colliding with Shadab and the ball went out of his hands. Both of them were down on the ground and it made everyone tense.

The physios came rushing and gave the duo some medical attention. Thankfully, they didn’t damage themselves enough as after some treatment they got up and looked fine. The duo then were back in the pavilion as the Karachi Kings innings ended.

Here’s the video:

Karachi Kings had a decent outing with the bat in the first innings as they ended with a total of 165 runs on the board. Skipper Shan Masood contributed 27 runs at the too along with Leus du Plooy, who slammed 24 runs, making sure that the team got off to a decent start.

However, the real blitz came from the bat of Kieron Pollard, who activated his beast mode and played a magnificent innings. The power-hitting batter played a cameo of 48 runs off just 28 balls. He smashed two fours and one six in his innings.

Irfan Khan (27*) supported him well as his team ended with 165 runs. Shadab Khan with the ball had a decent outing. Although he failed to pick the wicket but he was economical as he gave away only 18 runs in the three overs that he bowled.

Apart from him, Imad Wasim, Naseem Shah, Agha Salman, and Hunain Shah also picked one wicket each. The bowlers made sure that they picked wickets from time to time and helped their team to restrict the opposition to a total of under 170 runs on the board.

In the chase, Islamabad United were off a flying start, thanks to the power-packed start by Alex Hales. The England batter came out all guns blazing and made sure that he put the opposition under pressure right from the start. He has played some glorious shots in his innings and would want to cash in on the start that he has got.

Alex Hales was batting at unbeaten 33 runs off just 20 balls with the help of five boundaries at the time of writing this piece. With the kind of start Test they have, it’s fair to say that Shadab Khan’s team look favourites to win the game as they still have 10 wickets in hand.
