Sachin Tendulkar is a former India cricketer who represented Team India across formats in international cricket. He played for Mumbai in domestic cricket and Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League.

A right-handed batsman and a part-time spinner, Tendulkar is regarded as one of the best batters of all time. He played in international cricket from 1989 to 2013. Tendulkar played a record 200 Tests, 463 ODIs, and 1 T20I for India. He scored more than 34000 runs in international cricket with the help of 100 centuries.

Sachin Tendulkar's father's name is Ramesh Tendulkar. Tendulkar Senior was a noted Marathi novelist. Ramesh was born in the town of Alibag, near Mumbai, and used to live in the Thukrul Naka area. Ramesh received his primary and secondary education from Konkan Education Society Alibag. Later, he moved to Mumbai to pursue his higher education.

After completing his education, Sachin Tendulkar's father started working as a lecturer at Kirti College in Prabhadevi in the 1960s. A renowned Marathi author, Ramesh also wrote poetry and book reviews for a Marathi publishing company.

Sachin Tendulkar's father, Ramesh Tendulkar got married twice. His first wife passed away, leaving behind two sons, Ajit and Nitin as well as daughter Savita. After the passing away of his first wife, Ramesh married his deceased wife's younger sister Rajni. She used to work in the insurance industry. Later, Ramesh and Rajni gave birth to Sachin Tendulkar.

Sachin Tendulkar's father's death:

Sachin Tendulkar's father passed away on May 19, 1999, at the age of 65 after suffering a massive heart attack. Tendulkar was busy playing in the 1999 World Cup in England at that time. Tendulkar immediately returned home to attend his father's last rites and missed the game against Zimbabwe. After performing the final rites, Tendulkar returned to England and scored a century against Kenya.
