The Services Cricket Team represent the Indian armed forces in India's domestic cricket. They are managed by the Services Sports Control Board and play their home games at the Palam A Stadium in Delhi.
The team was founded in the year 1926. However, it took Services more than two decades to play their first Ranji Trophy game. The Services cricket team made its debut in the Ranji Trophy in the 1949-50 season. They played in the North Zone of the competition until 2001–02.
Barring the 2005-06 season, Services have played in the Plate Group and other lower-ranked groups since 2002–03. In the 2005-06 season, they had played in the Elite Group. Services' most successful phase in the Ranji Trophy was during the 1950s. Between 1950–51 and 1959–60, the Services cricket team reached the semi-finals six times and the final twice.
They lost the final against Bombay in 1956-57 before losing the final against Baroda in 1957–58. Services have not qualified for the final since the 1957-58 season.
