Shikhar Dhawan is an Indian cricketer who plied his trade for Team India across all the three formats. Dhawan retired from all forms of cricket in 2024. In domestic cricket, he represented Delhi while in the IPL, he last played for Punjab Kings.
Dhawan shot to limelight in 2004 when he starred with the bat in the Under-19 World Cup. He scored more than 500 runs with the help of a record three centuries. Dhawan soon became a key member of the Delhi team but took some time to get a chance in the Indian team.
He finally made his debut for Team India in an ODI against Australia in 2010. Dhawan was out for a duck on his debut and was dropped from the team soon. His fortunes finally changed in 2013 when he smashed a stunning knock of 187 against Australia on his Test debut.
The century kickstarter Dhawan's career and he soon became India's first choice opener across formats. Overall, he played 34 Tests and scored 2315 runs at an average of more than 40. In ODIs, he scored 6793 runs at an average of over 44. In T20Is, Dhawan scored 1759 runs from 68 games.

Shikhar Dhawan was married to Ayesha Mukherjee. Dhawan's family, especially his father, was against the marriage. One of the main reasons was the 10 year gap difference between Ayesha and Dhawan. However, the Dhawan family eventually accepted the relationship.
In 2009, Dhawan got engaged to Ayesha who was 10 years older to him. The couple tied the knot in 2012 but announced their separation in 2021. Later in 2024, a Delhi court granted divorce to Dhawan on the grounds of mental cruelty.
Dhawan and Ayesha are parents to three kids - one son and two daughters. While Dhawan is the biological father of his son, he had adopted the daughters. Both the daughters were born to Ayesha and her first husband.
Shikhar Dhawan's son:
In 2014, Shikhar Dhawan and Ayesha Mukherjee together became biological parents for the first time when they welcomed their son Zoravar. Ayesha and Zoravar accompanied Dhawan during most of the series. Dhawan junior also shared a good rapport with other members of the Indian team.
Dhawan posted a number of clips in which his son could be seen playing with other cricketers such as Rohit Sharma. Zoravar bears a striking resemblance to his father and even Dhawan agrees with it. During the Covid-19 pandemic, he had posted a photo of himself and his son with the caption: "The apple doesn't fall far from the tree".
When the couple got separated, Ayesha took Zoravar to Australia and did not let Dhawan contact his son. In 2024, Dhawan posted a heartfelt message on his son's birthday and revealed that he had not talked with him for a long time.

When Ayesha and Shikhar Dhawan decided to get married, the former cricketer had no hesitation in adopting his future wife's two daughters - Aliyah and Rhea. Dhawan shared a very good bond with both of his daughters before the divorce.
