Indian Cricket Team finally won a T20I Series against South Africa in India. The 2nd T20I match was played at Guwahati where the conditions were too hot. Temba Bavuma had won the toss & elected to bowl first. The pitch had grass but it turned out to be a batting paradise.

Temba Bavuma would have thought that he would chase a target of 190-200 runs but Indian batters had another idea. Indian batters showed a lot of intent as if they wanted to bury South African bowlers. The bowlers were bowling a lot of full tosses and the skipper Bavuma was looking clueless.

India scored 237 runs which is a humongous total. Chasing almost 12 runs per over from start is never easy. Temba Bavuma knew that his team had an improbable task on the cards. The batter once again failed to make a mark and now the management should think of changing his batting position as Markram can be a good choice as he can make the power-play count.

Temba Bavuma would be concerned as now the team has to go back to the drawing board. It would be interesting to see how the visitors respond to this loss as the top order is not scoring runs. Most likely, Proteas would be well equipped for the final match of the series and they would hope to avoid the whitewash.

240 runs is a bit too much for the team – Temba Bavuma

During Post Match presentation Temba Bavuma stressed on the bowling and he asserted.

“It probably wasn’t our best performance with the ball. Different conditions and different plans were needed. Execution is our plans is where our conversation is going to be.”

He added that the score was a bit too much.

“With 220, we were thinking as batters would be good. But 240 was too high”

He was asked about David Miller’s century and was all praiseworthy for him.

“It shows why David Miller is one of the best T20 batters going around. He is looking good, feeling good and we can draw a lot of confidence from his performance today.”

Bavuma stated that scoring became easier after the swing

Their bowlers got the ball to swing at the top and once it stopped swinging, we saw how easy it was to bat.”
