IND vs SA: Let Him Do Something First- Salman Butt On Umran Malik's Shoaib Akhtar Comparisons

Umran Malik sat on the sidelines as India was defeated by South Africa by 7 wickets in the first T20I of the five-match series in New Delhi.
While Salman Butt is excited for Umran to make his debut, he prefers the comparisons to Shoaib Akhtar to end for the time being.

The wait for Umran Malik to earn his India breakthrough continues, as the team management chose not to choose the fast bowler for the opening T20I against South Africa. Many have compared Umran to Shoaib Akhtar despite the fact that he is currently uncapped.

Umran is proficient in delivering at a rapid tempo, similar to the Rawalpindi Express. Most believe that the speedster from Jammu & Kashmir may one day beat Shoaib Akhtar’s milestone by bowling the fastest ball ever in international cricket.
‘Umran still has much to prove on the international cricketing stage’: Salman Butt
Salman Butt, a former Pakistan skipper, has recommended that such discussions be avoided considering Umran has still yet to make his debut. He seems to have a point to prove on the international cricket stage, despite his incredible talent.
“Umran has been kept back for reasons I don’t understand. India might have rested Bhuvneshwar, along with other senior players, because he is a veteran bowler. They may have gone with Umran, a unique bowler. Against batters, he bowls quickly and as a surprise factor “On his YouTube account, Butt remarked.

“There are individuals in both nations who enjoy having such meaningless debates. Whenever something occurs on a global scale, you make a comparison. Any pace bowler who can hit 150 kilometers per hour is a promising possibility.”
“Umran is just as interesting as anyone who bowls 150 or more. But first, let him compete and accomplish something, and then you can compare him to top-tier cricketers. At this point, I don’t believe we should be making these analogies ” Salman Butt Added.
Umran Malik has been named in India’s T20I squad for the five-match series, but there are a few pacers ahead of him in the pecking order.
