IND vs SA: South Africa Batsman Aiden Markram Ruled Out Of Remainder Of The T20I Series

South African all-rounder Aiden Markram has been ruled out of the T20 series against India. Earlier the South African batter, was ruled out of the first T20I against India on Thursday after testing positive for COVID-19.
Markram, who played in the recently finished Indian Premier League, was ruled out of the series opener, as skipper Temba Bavuma confirmed during the toss for the first match of the series.

After landing in New Delhi on June 2, he and the rest of the South African squad cleared the first phase of testing. But he later tested positive for the virus.

Although Markram has completed his 7-day quarantine he will not be able to feature in the remaining two games of the series.

South Africa Have Not Missed The Services Of Aiden Markram

Cricket South Africa in a statement said,@AidzMarkram has been ruled out of the remainder of the #INDvSA T20I series. The #Proteas batsman spent 7 days in quarantine after testing positive for COVID-19 last week and will not be able to complete his return to play program in time for the last 2 matches,” on Twitter. 

South Africa are currently leading the 5 match T20 series by 1-2 as they won the first two games at Delhi and Cuttack. They did not seem to miss Markram much as David Miller and Heinrich Klaasen stepped up in the first two games respectively.

Quinton de Kock who played the first match and could not play the next two games might become available for the 4th match, “Wicket-keeper batsman, Quinton de Kock, has made a marked improvement in his recovery from a wrist injury. The Proteas’ medical staff will continue to assess his progress and make a decision on his availability for match four in due course,” said Cricket South Africa via a tweet.
