IND vs SA: Wasim Jaffer Believes Rishabh Pant Will Struggle To Find A Place In The T20I XI

Wasim Jaffer believes that once India has all of their players available, Rishabh Pant, who is leading India in the series against South Africa, may struggle to find a berth in the starting XI.
While Dinesh Karthik’s performance since his international return in the present T20 International series against South Africa would excite the Indian cricket team, Rishabh Pant’s performance will be a reason for worry.
Rishabh Pant has found it hard to find the back of the net in the ongoing T20I series. So far, the stand-in India skipper has only amassed 57 runs in four games.
India is missing experienced players like Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, as well as KL Rahul and Suryakumar Yadav, who are both injured. With those four players certain to play in India’s starting XI for the T20 World Cup in Australia in October-November, Hardik Pandya and Dinesh Karthik appear to have solidified their positions in the team.
‘I believe DK has surpassed Rishabh Pant‘: Wasim Jaffer
Wasim Jaffer, a former India cricketer, believes that it will be tough for Pant, who is captaining India in the series against South Africa, to obtain a berth in the starting XI when all of India’s players are available.
“I believe that if you pick the next T20 squad, DK will be on the starting XI without a doubt. Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, I believe that three or four players stroll into the side as and when they are fit. So, I believe Rishabh Pant would have a difficult time breaking into that XI,” Wasim Jaffer remarked on ESPNcricinfo.
“I believe DK has surpassed Rishabh Pant, at least for the time being. I can not speak for the future, but right now you would choose DK over Rishabh Pant any day,” Wasim Jaffer stated
On Sunday, June 19, India and South Africa will square off in the fifth and final T20I in Bengaluru.
