The third and final T20I of the three-match T20I series between Rohit Sharma-led India National Cricket Team and Temba Bavuma-led South Africa National Cricket Team was played at the Holkar Cricket Stadium in Indore on Tuesday, October 4.
South Africa National Cricket Team crushed India National Cricket Team by 49 runs in the third T20I encounter, after losing the first two games, to avoid the clean sweep. India took the trophy home by winning the series 2-1.

Earlier, India National Cricket Team won the toss and elected to bowl first in the match. The Men In Blue made three changes to the playing XI as KL Rahul and Virat Kohli were rested and Arshdeep Singh was out with a back injury. Shreyas Iyer, Umesh Yadav and Mohammed Siraj were included in the playing XI. On the other hand, the Proteas made just one change to the playing XI as Dwaine Pretorius replaced Anrich Nortje.
Batting first, South Africa openers – Quinton de Kock and Temba Bavuma – failed to have a good partnership for the third consecutive time in the India T20I series.

Captain Temba Bavuma, who failed to get off the mark in the first two matches, got dismissed by pacer Umesh Yadav for 8-ball 3 in the 5th over of the innings. At the end of the powerplay, Proteas were at 48/1.
Then, wicketkeeper-batter Quinton de Kock batted brilliantly and completed his half-century off 33 balls and South Africa completed 100 runs in 10.1 overs. He got run-out in the 13th over after scoring brilliant 68 runs off 43 balls, including 6 fours and 4 sixes.
Batter Rilee Rossouw, who also failed miserably in the first two games, batted exceptionally and smashed a marvellous century. He smashed brilliant 100 runs off 48 balls, including 7 fours and 8 sixes.
Also, David Miller (19 runs off 5 balls) and Tristan Stubbs ( 23 runs off 18 balls) chipped in with brilliant contributions to help South Africa post 227/3 on the board.

Chasing the target, India were off to an awful start as skipper Rohit Sharma was cleaned up by Kagiso Rabada for a duck in the first over and Shreyas Iyer was cleaned up by Wayne Parnell for 1 in the second over.
After losing two quick wickets, veteran wicketkeeper-batter Dinesh Karthik and young wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant had a 41-run partnership in 20 balls. Pant got out in the 5th over after scoring 27 runs off 14 balls, including 3 fours and 2 sixes, and Karthik got dismissed in the 7th over after scoring 46 runs off 21 balls, including 4 fours and 4 sixes.

India’s highest ranked batter Suryakumar Yadav (8), all-rounder Axar Patel (9), bowling all-rounder Harshal Patel (17) and Ravichandran Ashwin (2) also failed to contribute big runs.
In the end, Deepak Chahar showcased some great batting and smashed 31 runs off 17 balls, including 2 fours and 3 sixes. Also, Umesh Yadav scored decent 20* runs, but India were bundled out for 178 in 18.3 overs.
Here’s How Twitter Reacted To India vs South Africa 3rd T20I:
Impressive win by SA. Dead rubber, but India would have liked to finish with a win. With Virat and Rahul rested, batting not at full strength. Worries about bowling increase though. Bumrah’s injury is massive blow, but other bowlers falling very short

Good with the ball..the best option to replace bumrah he wont ball like boom but he would balance the extra runs given with his batting either from his bat or by providing confidence to other batters and minimizing the tail pic.twitter.com/A6QYm4TBHr— ??Admmin?? (@adROHITmin457_) October 4, 2022
Pity there’s still a one day series to come, a 10 day break then the warm up games at the World Cup would have been enough prep I reckon. #proteas #sscricket #SAvsIND

India have gone into panic mode today. Not too worried about the batting collapse, as Virat and Rahul would have held them together, it’s the bowling that will continue to give us nightmares #INDvsSA #INDvsSAT20I

Thanks to injuries and experiments, by the time world cup ends – Ashwin will be our opener, Pant will be our strike bowler and Vijay Shankar will be our captain.

There's a good possibility that with this innings that Chahar might have sealed his spot as Bumrah's replacement in the WT20 squad.
In fact, he's made a good case to play ahead of Bhuvi/Harshal as well in the XI on the account of PP bowling & batting depth.

Deepak Chahar is an upgrade on Bhuvneshwar Kumar when you consider his batting ability. He offers the same new ball value as Bhuvi & also more suited to the T20 format as a batter. Neither of them are offering death bowling value. Better to play with Chahar in the XI? #INDvSA

Bhai harshal had a splendid ipl when played under kohli.
And siraj was good in atleast one season
And Umesh had one good season out of his 3 seasons for RCBNow don't hype KOHLI as RCB captain
— Shaik Khursheed Javed (@FadedJaved) October 4, 2022
Really that is the worst which Indian cricket would see. Can understand he got hit while he played for India given all other batsmen were in their prime but it is disgusting to see him taken to the cleaners still when all r past their prime. Even gully cricket won't spare him.
