Nissanka (36 off 37), Charith Asalanka (16 off 19) and Wanindu Hasaranga (13 off 11) looked scratchy during their innings as they found it hard to play with ease. Dinesh Chandimal sparked a little hope with an unbeaten 16-ball 25, but he found little support from other batsmen.

For Australia, Josh Hazlewood (4 for 12 in 4 overs) and Adam Zampa (3 for 18 in 4 overs) ran through Sri Lanka’s batting unit. The duo combined to pick 7 wickets between them, helping the team register an easy win in the first T20 international.
