IND vs SL: 3 Players In India Squad for Sri Lanka T20Is Who Could Have Been A Better Vice-Captain Than Suryakumar Yadav
Suryakumar Yadav has joined the leadership group for the first time in his career and will be assisting Hardik Pandya in the T20I IND vs SL series.
However, pressure on performance as per expectations, not much experience as vice-captain and the return of stars like Rishabh Pant and KL Rahul means Suryakumar Yadav may not be an ideal choice as vice-captain. Three others like Axar Patel, Shubman Gill, and Sanju Samson may have been a better vice-captain than Suryakumar Yadav in this IND vs SL series.
1. Axar Patel
Axar Patel could’ve been appointed T20I vice-captain for the IND vs SL series, instead of Suryakumar Yadav. Axar Patel has been doing well recently and his experience in all 3 formats could’ve come in handy. The 28-year-old spin all-rounder has picked 47 scalps in 8 Tests averaging 14.29 besides picking 55 scalps in 46 ODIs. He has picked 34 scalps in 37 T20Is averaging 25.14 in T20Is.
