Chennai Super Kings had an excellent IPL 2021 until it was suspended and it is going to be a big headache for them while retaining players as everyone had contributed really well. If the mega auction takes place, the franchises can retain a maximum of two Indians and one overseas and the Right To Match Card can be used to get back one more Indian and overseas player.

However, the three players that will be retained are going to be very important as letting them into auction might increase their price and franchises might have to change their plans in the middle. Subject to the mega auction, Here are 3 players Chennai Super Kings might retain for IPL 2022.

Ravindra Jadeja will be the first name on the sheet if they had to retain and he has certainly lived up to his expectations in the last two years. He has performed really well for India as well as the Chennai Super Kings and is one of the key factors that helped CSK to move to the top of the table in IPL 2021.

Jadeja was retained in the mega auction last time in 2018 and it is not going to be a different scenario this time too. He is pipped to be the future captain of CSK after the retirement of MS Dhoni and he deserves it for the number of performances he has given over the years. This will be the right time for him to take over the captaincy too.
