Ravindra Jadeja will be the first name on the sheet if they had to retain and he has certainly lived up to his expectations in the last two years. Jadeja was retained in the mega auction last time in 2018 and it is not going to be a different scenario this time too. He has a brilliant technique and plays a lot of orthodox shots which gives the edge over the other youngsters. He still has a good strike rate and keeps ticking the scoreboard. He will be one of the players to watch out for in the upcoming seasons and will probably be retained by the franchise with Dhoni and Raina ageing out.

Sam Curran has been playing the role of Dwayne Bravo in the early years when he used to be a brilliant finisher and bowls the tough overs for the franchise. Curran has been very impressive after coming into the CSK franchise and he deserves to be in the scheme of things for retention.

The other overseas players are ageing and haven’t shown a lot of promise for the future while Sam Curran is a player who can be groomed for the bigger stages. He can bat anywhere in the batting order and bowls in the powerplay as well as the death overs. He is a match-winner and likes to have an impact in the match.
