The year 2020 has been a major disappointment around the world with the Covid-19 pandemic going around and the cricketers have been looking to get back to form in international cricket. However. indefinite schedules haven’t helped the cause and the mental stress on the players has been really huge.

This list is a big surprise as it doesn’t involve big names like Virat Kohli, who hasn’t got an international century since 2019 which is very low for his standards. However, some players have still broken through, and here are 4 players with the most centuries in international cricket since 2020.

Sean Williams from Zimbabwe holds equally second place in the list of players for the most international centuries since 2020 as he has scored four centuries. The 34-year-old left-hander has been captaining the Zimbabwe side since 2019 and has taken more responsibilities with the bat in Test cricket especially.

Williams has scored one test century in 2020 and one ODI century in 2020 while the rest have come this year in tests. He has been in fine touch and is one of the most reliable players for the Zimbabwe cricket team in all formats. He was the man of the series in the tests against Afghanistan where he produced back-to-back centuries as the skipper of the side.

Paul Stirling:

Paul Stirling is one of the most exciting players in the world at the moment and he can certainly make a merry of the bowlers with his phenomenal ball-striking abilities. Stirling is equally second on the list of players with most international centuries since 2020 as he has scored four centuries.

Test Cricket hasn’t been the cup of tea for Paul Stirling for sure, but Ireland opener has been very good in One-day internationals and all the 4 centuries have come in the 50 over the format for him. Stirling scored just one century in 2020 and he has already scored 3 centuries in 2021 with still some months to go.

Steve Smith:

Steve Smith is one of the best batsmen going around in the world at the moment, and one of the reasons behind it has been his ability to find his feet and he averages more than 60 in tests which is a testimony of the calibre he has got. Smith holds second place equally with two more players with 4 international centuries since 2020.

It is very surprising that, out of the 4 centuries, only one has come in the long format in which he is a master. However, he made up for it with 3 ODI centuries in the 2020 year and he definitely is a player for the ODI format too. Smith will be looking to improve his century count in test cricket which hasn’t been his usual standards.

Babar Azam:

Azam holds the most number of centuries in international cricket since 2020 and he got his 5th century recently with a stunning 158 against England in the 3rd ODI. Overall, Babar scored three ODI centuries, one test century in 2020, and one T20 international century in 2021 taking his overall tally to five since 2020.
