It is not an easy task to score a T20 international century as the number of balls is very limited and even some of the legendary batsmen haven’t achieved the feat still. It takes a lot of risks to score a T20 century and most of the time, the batsmen once they reach the fifty mark, tend to be very aggressive and give away their wicket.

Such has been the intensity in the format and the T20 Worldcup is scheduled to take place in October this year too. It will be very interesting to see if these legendary batsmen go on to break the jinx and score their maiden T20I century. Here are 5 legendary batsmen who still haven’t scored a T20I century.

AB de Villiers is one of the best batsmen to have played the game in the modern era and he has made life difficult for various bowlers. The South African batsman has retired from international cricket in 2018 and has been playing franchise cricket for various teams around the globe.

The 37-year-old played 78 T20 internationals scoring 1672 runs at an average of 26.1 and a strike rate of 135.2. He has been in prolific form in the recent IPL for the Royal Challengers Bangalore and looks fit and ready to make a comeback into the international stages. His highest score in T20 internationals has been 79 not out and hasn’t scored a T20I century yet.

Quinton de Kock is an aggressive left-hander for the Proteas at the top of the order and the wicket-keeper batsmen have a good record for South Africa in all the formats. The 28-year-old has been really consistent and he can take the game away from the opposition in a quick time.

De Kock has played 47 T20 internationals scoring 1303 runs at an average of 31 and a strike rate of 136.6. He has scored six fifties in the format but hasn’t scored a century in the T20 internationals so far with the highest score being an unbeaten 79.

Jos Buttler is one of the best T20 batsmen going around in the world at the moment and he can be very effective with his strokeplay all around the field. The English wicket-keeper batsmen is a massive boost to any team and he is a match-winner who can play at any position in the batting order.

Buttler has played 80 T20 internationals scoring 1791 runs at an average of 31.4 and a strike rate of 140.2. He has scored 13 fifties in the format for England but hasn’t scored a century which can be expected very soon. His highest score has been an unbeaten 83 in T20 internationals.

Jonny Bairstow:

Jonny Bairstow is one of the powerful strikers of the cricket ball and he can be very destructive at the top of the order in the powerplay. The England batsman has been in phenomenal touch for the Sunrisers Hyderabad in the recent IPL and will be key to the plans of England in the T20 Worldcup.

Bairstow has played 53 T20 internationals so far scoring 1063 runs at an average of 28.7 and a strike rate of 138.2 He has scored six fifties so far in his T20 international career but hasn’t made a T20I century yet with the highest score of an unbeaten 86 in the format for England.

Virat Kohli is one of the best players in the world at the moment, and he has broken most of the records in international cricket. The one thing he will have his eye on scores a T20 international century which he hasn’t done yet with a top score of 94.

Kohli is a run machine when it comes to playing cricket in any format and he does rely on shots down the ground rather than the aerial route. The elegant right-hander has played 90 T20 internationals scoring 3159 runs at an average of 52.6. He has scored 28 fifties so far in T20Is and is expected to get to the three-figure mark as soon as possible.
