Ambati Rayudu’s 100* – 32 years
Ambati Rayudu is the fifth oldest player in the IPL history to have scored a century from India as he did two years back in the 2018 season for the Chennai Super Kings at the age of 32 years. The right-hander scored a brilliant unbeaten century off just 62 balls at a strike rate of 161.29.
The century came against Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Pune stadium while chasing down the score and it helped CSK win by 8 wickets with 6 balls remaining. Rayudu hit seven sixes and seven fours in the innings and he was in fine form in the tournament which pushed him for a call-up to the Indian team.
Shikhar Dhawan’s 101* – 34 years
Dhawan kept ticking with the scoreboard and he finished with 100 not out with 14 fours and one six in the innings. He scored at a strike rate of 174 and it was one of the best innings in the tournament. Dhawan’s innings made sure that Delhi won the game by 5 wickets with 1 ball remaining. He scored at the age of 34 which is the fourth oldest century innings in IPL.
Shikhar Dhawan’s 106* – 34 years
Dhawan’s century was composed of 12 fours and three sixes at a strike rate of 173.77 and it took the total to 164 which wasn’t enough in the end. Punjab chased down the total with five wickets in hand and 6 balls remaining and Dhawan’s century at 34 years became the third-oldest player to score a century.
Virender Sehwag’s 122 – 35 years
In reply, CSK started off brilliantly, but lost their way in the middle of the innings, and ended up losing the game by 24 runs. Sehwag’s century came at 35 years which is the second oldest century by an Indian batsman in IPL history.
Sachin Tendulkar 100* – 37 years
Sachin’s innings propelled Mumbai Indians to a score of 182 on the board, but it eventually wasn’t enough as Kochi Tuskers Kerala chased down the score with 6 balls remaining with the brilliant half-century from Brendon McCullum.
