The former South African batsman achieved the 2000 run landmark in ODIs at just 40 innings.

Amla had a phenomenal career with the bat for the nation scoring 8113 runs in 181 ODI games at an average of 49.5 and he scored 27 centuries and 39 half-centuries in the period. He did not have the same impact in the latter part of his career and had to announce his retirement post that.
