Making an international debut is like a dream come true for every sportsman. However, like a Juliet Rose flower, it is one of the rare milestones which only a few among millions are able to achieve. In Indian cricket, the competition is so high that only a bunch of top performers are able to play for the national team.
India’s bench strength is too powerful and it is not wrong to say that the selectors always have a replacement for any player. However, due to this, there are also many brilliant players who are not able to make it to the national team despite impressive shows at the domestic level. In this listicle, here we talk about 5 stars of Indian domestic cricket who won’t be able to make their international debut.

5 Stars Of Indian Domestic Cricket Who Won’t Be Able To Make Their International Debut
5. Priyank Panchal
Priyank Panchal is the first player on this list. Panchal is one of the top opening batsmen at the domestic level. Panchal plays for Gujarat in the domestic circuit. The 32-year-old has outstanding stats in his career so far.
In List A Games, he has scored 2854 runs in 75 games at an average of 40.19. In First Class Cricket, the right-handed batsman has scored 7068 runs in 101 games at an average of 45.30. However, he is yet to make his debut and taking note of his age, it looks quite impossible that he will be able to make it. Since Panchal is an opening batsman, the competition is very high.
For instance, Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul are the captain and vice-captain of the Indian team currently and they are expected to hold the spot in the coming years. Moreover, players like Ishan Kishan, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Mayank Agarwal, and Shubman Gill are some other emerging openers for the team.

4. Abhimanyu Easwaran
Abhimanyu Easwaran is another player on this list. Like Panchal, Abhimanyu is also an opening batsman. He plays for Bengal in domestic cricket. At an average of 43+ and 46+ in First Class and List A Cricket respectively, the right-handed has scored over 14000 runs in his domestic career.
However, he too faces the same situation as Panchal. As India already has a lot of opening options, there is a high chance that Abhimanyu Easwaran might not be able to make his international debut.
3. Jalaj Saxena
Jalaj Saxena is another Indian player on this list. Jalaj might not be a popular name in the national circuit, however, he is a popular one at the domestic level. He is an all-rounder from the Kerala team. The right-handed batter has scored over 6368 runs in 126 First Class matches and picked 360 wickets.
In List A games, he has scored 2035 runs averaging 25.75 and picked 117 wickets. However, the all-rounder has already reached 35 years of age. Moreover, some all-rounders like Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, Deepak Hooda, and Venkatesh Iyer among others are making it big in the national team. Hence, it is highly unlikely that Saxena will be able to get a chance for his international debut.
2. Taruwar Kohli
You must have heard about Virat Kohli, but there is another Kohli in Indian cricket who still holds the position of captain for his team. Taruwar Kohli is the captain of the Mizoram team and a top-order batsman. The right-handed batsman has played 49 First Class and List A games, and averages over 51+ and 39+ in both respectively.
However, being 33 years old currently, he is highly unlikely to make a mark in the national team. He plays at the no.3 position and India has a queue of players for the spot like Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant, and Suryakumar Yadav among others for the slot. Hence, it is highly unlikely that Taruvar Kohli will be able to make his international debut.

1. Rajneesh Gurbani
Rajneesh Gurbani is another player on this list. Gurbani plays for Vidarbha in domestic cricket. He is a right-arm medium-pace bowler. In 31 First Class games, he has picked over 106 wickets at an average of 23.65. In 26 List A games, he has picked 24 wickets in 26 games at an average of 36.66.
However, Gurbani is 29 years old currently and looking at the emerging pacers in Indian cricket, it is highly unlikely that Gurbani will get a chance in the national team. Pacers like Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mohammed Shami, and Jasprit Bumrah are already permanent ones in the national setup.
Moreover, emerging pacers like Deepak Chahar, Harshal Patel, Arshdeep Singh, Avesh Khan, Mohammed Siraj, Shardul Thakur, and Prasidh Krishna are toiling it hard to make become regular ones in the Indian team. Hence, Gurbani’s chances of making an international debut are very thin.
