Pakistan has been fairly inconsistent in Test cricket despite having some legendary players and they have never looked like stamping their authority in the format to become the best. One of the reasons for their lack of consistency in Tests is the number of ducks their players have been scoring in Tests.

It is very important that each and every player on the side contribute to the team in some way and the batting department is very crucial to set up the test. Wasim Akram is one of the best bowlers the world has ever seen in both the Test and ODI formats and he is considered to be a legend of the game. Akram had an illustrious career with the ball and went on to become a useful all-rounder in the latter part of his career.

Akram scored 17 ducks in his Test career overall which is the equivalent sixth-most for Pakistan despite scoring three centuries and 7 fifties for Pakistan in his 104 Test match career. Akram has a best score of an unbeaten 257 in Tests.

The former Pakistan captain and the current number three batsman for the men in green in Tests, Azhar Ali is the latest entry to this list. The right-hander has been one of the most consistent batsmen for his side in the longer format from his debut in 2010.

He has scored 18 centuries and 33 half-centuries so far in 88 Tests and joint sixth for the most number of ducks for Pakistan in Tests. His latest duck came against West Indies in the ongoing second Test in the first innings.

Younis Khan is regarded to be one of the greatest batsmen to have played the game from Pakistan and he captained the side in all formats too. Younis Khan is known for playing long innings and was consistent throughout his test career at an average of 52.

He scored 34 centuries and 34 half-centuries in his 118 Tests for Pakistan and he registered 19 ducks in the process as well which is the fourth most from Pakistan in the longer format.

Wasim Bari:

Wasim Bari was a former Pakistan wicket-keeper batsman who played from 1967 to 1984 and finished as the most capped Pakistan test cricket at the time of retirement. He played 51 ODIs for the nation apart from the 81 Tests he played and he had picked up 201 Test catches while keeping.

Wasim Bari wasn’t the best of batters and he failed to register a century in international cricket. He scored six half-centuries in his overall Test career and was out for a duck on 19 occasions which is the third most for Pakistan cricket in the longer format.

Waqar Younis was part of the famous new ball attack alongside Wasim Akram for Pakistan that conquered the whole world and he is one of the best fast bowlers in the history of the game. However, he wasn’t much involved in his batting methods and played as a tailender mostly,

Waqar Younis registered 21 ducks in his Test career which is the second most by a Pakistan cricketer and his highest score was 45 in international cricket.

The former leg spinner Danish Kaneria tops the list for the most number of ducks by a Pakistan cricketer in Tests. Kaneria was always among the wickets in the Tests for Pakistan and played as the only spinner from making his debut in 2000 until 2010.

Kaneria mostly came in at number 11 in the batting order and didn’t contribute much to the totals in his 61 Tests. He registered 25 ducks in his Test career and had a batting average of just 7.
