Rohit Sharma will be a certainty to play for the three-match ODI series and he was rested earlier for the first two T20s to play the entire ODI series. He has been a prolific run score for India in the format and will play a huge role as a top-order batsman as well as the vice-captain in the side.

Rohit’s recent test form was scintillating and he would hope to continue the form into the ODI series. He finished the final T20 game with a blistering 64 of just 34 balls which paved the way for an Indian win easily. Rohit has been and will remain an important member of the side for a long time now.

Virat Kohli:

Virat Kohli, being the captain of the side will be the first name on the team and has been India’s best white-ball players over the decade. He averages nearly 60 in the format and is the master of the batting lineup when it comes to chasing down scores.

Virat Kohli has captained the side well in the test series and the T20 series with some surprising and effective team changes and a lot will be expected from him in the ODI series. He hasnt hit a century in international cricket for two years now which is very rare and he will be hoping to overcome that feat in this three-match series against England. He is a big match player and cherishes playing against tough opponents.

Hardik Pandya:

Hardik Pandya has taken his game to the next level in the last two years and India have been the beneficiary of his improved gameplay. He has been very successful in the last few months and is on the verge of becoming the much-searched pace bowling all-rounder that India needed.

Hardik Pandya came into bat at four in the last T20 game and smacked the bowling with a 39 run knock of just 17 balls. His bowling was one of the biggest positives for India after his injury and he stepped during the crucial times. His slower ones were difficult to hit and he is expected to bowl at least 5 to 7 overs in each game of the series.

Rishabh Pant has been sensational for India in all three formats in the last few months and his wicket keeping has improved vastly. He kept really well in the test series against England and India were very happy to see his improved keeping skills. His recent performances earned him a recall into the limited-overs squad.

India is expected to start with Rishabh Pant as the wicket-keeper as he can play a big role at five and also be the finisher for India. He can bat anywhere in the top order and he provides an added advantage with a left-hand option. His ability to destroy any bowling attacks makes him an X factor and it was visible in the Australia test series and also against England.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar:

Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammad Shami are not available for the ODI series and Bhuvneshwar Kumar is expected to lead the pace attack in the absence of those bowlers. A lot will depend on Bhuvneshwar’s performance for India’s success in the ODI series and he bowled really well in the T20 series after returning to the Indian squad from a long injury break.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar picked up two wickets for just 16 runs in his four-over spell in the final T20 game and staged for the downfall of two important England batsman. His death bowling was at the best and he would like to get few more breakthroughs at the early stages. He is returning to the ODI squad after a long break too and India will look to get him a lot of match practice as soon as possible with the T20 World Cup coming.
