IPL 2021 takes a countdown as the tournament will commence next month. Royal Challengers Bangalore will play against Mumbai Indians in the first match of IPL 2021. The match will be played at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on April 9, 2021. While Mumbai Indians are the defending champions, Royal Challengers Bangalore are yet to win an IPL trophy.

Hence, Jaydev Unadkat holds the 5th spot with 1 hat-trick he took in IPL 2017. The left-arm pacer took a hat-trick in IPL 2017 in a match against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Unadkat was representing Rising Pune Supergiants in the match. In the 2nd innings, Unadkat dismissed tailenders Bipul Sharma, Rashid Khan, and Bhuvneshwar Kumar in three consecutive deliveries. Unadkat took 5 wickets in the match after conceding 30 runs.

The next player who comes to this list is Laxmipathy Balaji. The right-arm medium pacer Balaji grabbed a hat-trick against Punjab Kings at MA Chidambaram Stadium in IPL 2008. In the 2nd innings, while playing for Chennai Super Kings, Balaji dismissed Irfan Pathan, Piyush Chawla, and Yuvraj Singh in three consecutive deliveries to grab a hat-trick. Balaji conceded 24 runs in that match and took 5 wickets.

Andrew Tye is another player who has achieved a hat-trick in IPL. In IPL 2017, Tye grabbed a hat-trick against Rising Pune Supergiants at Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium. Andrew Tye was playing for Gujarat Lions. In the first innings, Aussie pacer Tye dismissed Ankit Sharma, Manoj Tiwary, and SN Thakur in three consecutive delivery off the 20th over. Andrew Tye took 5 wickets in the match after giving away 17 runs.

Former Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh holds the 2nd spot with 2 hat-tricks to his name. Yuvraj Singh is one of the brilliant all-rounders Indian cricket has seen so far. In IPL 2009, Yuvraj Singh attained a hat-trick against Royal Challengers Bangalore. The left-arm spinner Yuvraj Singh was playing for Kings XI Punjab in that match. He gave away 22 runs in the match and took 3 wickets in total. Again, in the same season, Yuvraj accounted for another hat-trick against Deccan Chargers. In his 4 overs, Yuvraj conceded 13 runs and took 3 wickets. IPL 2019 was played in South Africa.

Amit Mishra has taken the most hat-tricks in the Indian Premier League which is three times. The Indian spinner achieved his first hat-trick in IPL 2008 in a match against Deccan Chargers at Arun Jaitley Stadium. Amit Mishra was playing for Delhi Daredevils (Capitals). Again, in IPL 2011, Mishra took another hat-trick against Kings XI Punjab (Punjab Kings) at HPCA stadium.

Mishra was playing for Deccan Chargers in that season. Mishra took his 3rd hat-trick while playing for Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2013. The opposition team was Pune Warriors. Amit Mishra is also the 2nd highest wicket-taker in IPL so far. He has grabbed 160 wickets in 150 matches.
