Probably, this is going to be an automatic choice and Royal Challengers Bangalore should look to retain Devdutt Padikkal in their squad even if it is through the Right To Match card. Padikkal is an exciting young prospect who has been scoring the bulk of runs in domestic cricket and in the IPL.

He scored 195 runs in the 6 games he played this season and hit a scintillating century against the Rajasthan Royals. The elegant left-hander has all the shots in the book and has improved his strike rate in the middle overs too. He has been in the eyes of the Indian selectors and Virat Kohli was very impressed with him this year. He will be keen to improve and move forward.

Harshal Patel:

Harshal Patel was very effective in this IPL picking up a lot of wickets for the Royal Challengers Bangalore franchise. He was one of the reasons behind their success in the first four games this season and he has shown that he can be a great all-round addition to the side.

He remained the top wicket-taker of the tournament from the first match of the IPL where he picked up a five-wicket haul and in the seven games he played, he picked up 17 wickets which weren’t easy. He used his variation in the Chennai wicket really well where it is really slow and proved to be a great addition. Royal Challengers Bangalore might be tempted to get him back in the auction through the RTM card.

Glenn Maxwell:

Apart from de Villiers, Royal Challengers Bangalore will have another option of retaining an overseas player through the RTM card, and they could be eyeing to get the services of Glenn Maxwell back. Maxwell who was struggling in the IPL for the most part of his career found his rhythm going in the RCB colours this season.

He was the top run-getter for the franchise in IPL 2021 scoring 223 runs in the 6 innings he played. He was picked up for a heavy price in the auction and he proved his worth to the side. He will be in the plans of the RCB franchise for sure and might get the nod through the RTM card given that the franchises generally like him. He was assigned a different role in the RCB franchise which suited him really well and he had more impact.
