3. Harshal Patel

Harshal Patel is the first player on this list. Patel is part of the T20I squad but he is absent from the ODI squad. Harshal Patel gave an outstanding performance in IPL 2021 last year, winning the purple cap with 32 wickets.

He was given a chance to make his debut in the IND vs NZ T20I series in November 2021, where he executed a decent show by picking 4 wickets in 2 games. The right-arm pacer is an emerging bowler for India and if he gets more opportunities, he might make it big in international cricket.

2. Venkatesh Iyer

Venkatesh Iyer is another player who missed out on a spot in the ODI squad in IND vs WI ODI series. Recently, the left-handed batsman was picked for the ODI series against South Africa. However, he performed poorly and was dropped from the ODI series against West Indies.

However, Iyer should be given more chances to play in ODIs. Against a team like West Indies, Venkatesh Iyer could have gained confidence with a good batting and bowling show.

Axar Patel is the third Indian player who missed out on the ODI squad in the IND vs WI ODI series. Last year, the left-arm spinner impressed with his performances in Tests and T20Is. He also gave an outstanding performance in IPL 2021.

Ravichandran Ashwin has not managed to perform up to the mark for India in limited-overs formats. Since Ashwin is absent from the IND vs WI ODI series, Axar Patel could have taken his place in the squad. Being a left-armer, Axar can give more depth to the spin attack.
