West Indies have won the toss in the 2nd ODI of the 3-match series against India and elected to field first in Ahmedabad. The Men in Blue will be locking horns against the Caribbean in the second ODI of the three-match series on Wednesday. The hosts already have a lead in the series as they won the first match comfortably by 6 wickets.

In the first ODI of the series, the game went smooth as butter for the Indian team as they won the toss and invited the West Indians to bat first. The Indian bowlers were right on the money as they dented regular blows to the visitors and West Indies could only manage 176 runs being bowled out in the first innings.

Yuzvendra Chahal was the star performer for the hosts as he picked up 4 wickets, also claiming his 100th ODI wicket in the process. Washington Sundar also had a great outing in the previous game as he went on to pick 3 wickets. KL Rahul has joined the squad for the remainder of the series and his inclusion in the Indian XI looks ominous.

Although the West Indies batting lineup saw a massive collapse early in the first ODI, it is highly unlikely that any changes will be made to the first XI of the Caribbean side in the 2nd ODI. Kieron Pollard has a niggle and he won’t be available for the 2nd ODI. Nicholas Pooran will be leading the side in Pollard’s absence and Odean Smith will be replacing Pollard in the first XI.

India’s Predicted Playing XI: Rohit Sharma (c), KL Rahul, Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant (wk), Suryakumar Yadav, Deepak Hooda, Washington Sundar, Shardul Thakur, Mohammed Siraj, Yuzvendra Chahal, Prasidh Krishna

West Indies Predicted Playing XI: Brandon King, Shai Hope (wk), Darren Bravo, Shamarh Brooks, Nicholas Pooran (c), Odean Smith, Jason Holder, Fabian Allen, Alzarri Joseph, Akeal Hosein, Kemar Roach

The team winning the toss will once again like to bowl first as the wicket looked quite dry in the first innings of the first ODI and hence, there might be a good help to the spinners in the opening phase of the game. Also, due is always a crucial factor in Ahmedabad which will make it relatively easier for the team batting second.
